History
Gillwood Remanufacturing Inc began operating in 1965 in Burnaby with two wood moulders and a rip saw, providing value-added custom services. In 1975, the operation moved out to Chilliwack, adding 2 additional moulders and 12 dry kilns, and continued to operate as a family business providing on-time quality service for the next 21 years.
In 1996, the company was purchased by Slocan Forest Products. Two finger-joint lines and a laminated beam line were added. A planer line was added in 1999.
In 2004, the company was acquired by Canfor and was operated by the Canfor sales group for the next 6 years. On June 5, 2010, Gillwood Remanufacturing Inc was purchased by the BID Group of Companies.
Current
Today, Gillwood Remanufacturing Inc employs 100 people in a 250,000 square foot facility,
continuing to provide custom kiln-drying, finger-jointing, moulding,
planing, fascia, and re-saw services.
